Things that I loved about LEGENDBORN. In essence: everything. And you must read it for innumerable reasons. Beyond a retelling, this was an entirely new world born from the familiar Arthurian myth. Plus academic vibes, complicated relationships, and a generational cast of characters. And yet, there was a strong undercurrent that came to the surface in the latter sections of the book. Grief. Grief that had me putting the book down and sitting in silence to just feel. So yes, there’s adventure galore in LEGENDBORN, fights with supernatural creatures, magic, secret societies, and elegant galas. But through it all, there was grief. Devastating, beautiful, heartbreaking grief. The highest of stakes, really. Like, what didn’t happen in this book? Bree’s journey of healing and acceptance plus end-of-the-world dramas?!
