Today, we honor and remember Rosie Jiménez. Rosie should still be here. The Hyde Amendment ended her access to receiving affordable, safe abortion care and, ultimately, led to the loss of Rosie’s life. It’s been 46 years since the Hyde Amendment was first passed and it’s still impacting people’s access to abortion to this day. We’re reposting Rosie’s story by @latinainstitute to honor her memory and legacy. And we want to make it clear that our movement WILL NOT stop fighting until ALL PEOPLE have equitable and clear access to the reproductive healthcare they need and want, including abortion.
