hi, we’re best friends vanessa and bowen. the honest truth is that we knew the chances of us making it past year one were not in our favor. in 2017, we quit our day jobs and put everything we had into an untitled project that would become mood ring. we thought mood ring would be our cute little bar maybe a few people come to day to day. well, it’s been a chaotic good/evil (never neutral) journey of 5 years now. september 23rd and 24th, we’re celebrating our 5 year anniversary. we’ve cried in these walls, slept in these walls, argued in these walls, bled in these walls, laughed in these walls, almost gave up in these walls, met some of our best friends and lovers in these walls, created our life stories in these walls, and spent the better part of half a decade working here. all we’ve got to say is thank you to the thousands of angels that we’ve met over the years, had the pleasure of serving, and shared one or a thousand special moments with. thank you to our amazing staff for all their work across the years. maybe you’ve been here once or a dozen times or maybe never at all. everyday, we pass by other bars and restaurants and think about how someone’s entire life is in that storefront. we work on mood ring every single day of our lives, so for us, mood ring is everything. while 5 years is an incredible milestone and we’d love to see you at our celebration, this is our life, and we’ll be here for you as long as you’ll have us. because without you, we’re just a room with some red lights. with love, until the night closes in vanessa and bowen ♥︎ portrait by @guarionex_jr ♥︎ flyers by @ppphhhiiilll
