On view now at @ICAMiami: Following its acquisition of Jiang Cheng’s “U-12” (2018), the museum hosts the artist's first institutional presentation, which features a selection of new and recent paintings that build on the Cheng’s exploration of the psychological force of portraiture. Preoccupied with the expressive powers of the human face, Jiang’s commanding, beautiful, and haunting works convey multiple identities and meanings, like psychological ciphers. Cheng's paintings were seen in May at Independent in a solo exhibition presented by @DownsandRoss. #IndependentArtFair Follow: @jiangcheng_1985 for more from the artist.
