Celebrated 8 years of marriage with a dreamy date night at @rooftopcinemaclub! Feature of the night? #LoveJones It was such a special evening, and I hadn’t seen that film in its entirety since becoming a full grown adult, and when I tell you it just hits differently, Baybeee!! My take away is Love is a choice. That’s something I’ve always believed in, and having that belief validated by not only the movie, but a celebration of 8 years of commitment means so much! The falling in love part is all chemicals and gooey yumminess, but if fades. The passion part comes and goes with the ebbs and flow of everyday life. But when you choose Love, hunh, it makes you talk differently; listen more; fight fair; and work - on yourself and your relationship with your partner. Choosing Love isn’t just a one and done thing. You choose it over and over again, every step of the way. And when both you and your partner are choosing Love, it just lasts. In life, you grow as individuals. Love creates space for that growth to encompass the whole relationship. We’re 8 years in, and I’m over here outrageously grateful for the man I married August 17, 2014. Best decision I’ve ever made.
