After waiting a few days for the perfect conditions at a Russian air base in Antarctica we got flown into Queen Maud Land. @conrad_anker , @jimmychin , @pablo_durana and myself were on the first flight while @pfaff_anna , @cedarwright , and @alexhonnold came on the following flight with the rest of the gear. We circled around all the features a few times scouting and shooting photos of the rock. Conrad had been there some 20 years before and sat in front to direct the pilot where he thought we should be dropped. Our rough goal was to climb every formation in the Wolf's Jaw, a horseshoe-like chain of jagged rock spires. After a little scouting Conrad pointed out a spot he thought would make for a nice basecamp, it also just happened to be a stones throw from the peak he most wanted to climb, Ulvetanna. Conrad and Jimmy enjoyed the shortest approach while the rest of us got a dose of the Conrad sandbag as we skied across the glacier to our respective climbs. Despite the sandbag, the backdrop from basecamp was well worth the extra walking. @thenorthface
