Truly the greatest gift — welcoming a precious piece of heaven with the time and space to heal and enjoy them. 🥹 This time around with my sixth baby, I wasn’t sure if it would be possible. But with some planning and tender talks with Ry, this has been the most beautiful postpartum healing journey for me. Postpartum is a time like no other. It is tender, raw, and so precious. It’s easy to feel the pressure to bounce back, to do it all, to keep going. But what if you gave yourself permission to slow down instead? This 5-5-5 postpartum plan was where it all started: -5 days in bed: Stay in your bed or on your bed for a whole five days to let yourself fully rest. Sleep with your baby every chance you get, study them in awe when you’re awake, and soak in so much gratitude for what you’ve just been blessed with. These days set the foundation for breastfeeding, healing, and building a deep connection with your little one — but yes, stand up and stretch when you need to. - 5 days in your room: It’s time to get out of bed a bit more, but don’t go far. :) Open the windows, rock your baby in the chair, take an extra-long shower, and keep embracing rest while gently finding your footing again. - 5 days around your house: Slowly expand to moving around your home. Enjoy special moments with your other little ones or your husband while staying present with your baby. This is only a small window of time you’ll never get back, so focus on what needs you most. Now, two months later, we’ve been floating in our newborn bubble, and someone is going to have to come drag me out of it. ☺️🫠 I know every mama’s experience is different, every season is different. But all the small moments of rest and care — no matter how they look — truly matter. If I could, I’d personally bring you soup and sit beside you to remind you: you’re doing amazing, and you deserve to feel held, not hurried. 🤍 Save this for your postpartum journey — or share it with someone who can be part of your support system, like a partner, sister, or friend. Together, we can help more mamas feel cared for in this sacred season.
