On this day in 2014, an unarmed 18-year-old Michael Orlandus Darrion Brown Jr. (May 20, 1996 - August 9, 2014) was shot and killed by 28-year-old white Ferguson police officer, Darren Wilson, in the city of Ferguson, Missouri. Witnesses offered corroborated stories of the shooting: that Brown had his hands raised as the officer repeatedly fired at him.
