Do you know how many times I’ve heard the word “no” in my career? Whether it was for dancing, acting, broadcasting. And the person who got the “yes” was always a white person. Not hating on them, love them all but stating a fact. But, some of those noes were also because God was closing those doors. There were better plans and a better path, one where I could remain my authentic self. All the yeses I’ve gotten have been far greater than my mind could ever imagine. Here’s a reminder for anyone who needs to hear this, you are unique, you are beautiful, you are talented and when the time is right, your gift will receive the opportunity to be shared. Until then, only look down when admiring your shoes or praying, otherwise keep your head up. 😘
