Last week, we were honored to host @hanahana_beauty’s Vibe Hour fundraiser at Retreat, a creative coffee house and culinary incubator cultivated to support emerging BIPOC artisans and creative entrepreneurs as they develop their craft and enterprise. Hanahana Beauty is a consciously clean skincare and wellness brand whose mission is to disrupt the global beauty industry. Founded in 2017, Abena Boamah-Acheampong created Hanahana to help us feel more comfortable in our skin. Hanahana Beauty was grown with the intention of increasing accessibility, transparency, and sustainability in all that we create. Emblematic of their commitment to our bodies and our communities, Hanahana collaborates with Katariga Women’s Shea Cooperative in Ghana to ensure the fair sourcing of their products. As we make strides toward the transformation of the nearly abandoned St. Laurence Elementary School into an incubator for artists and creative entrepreneurs, we are proud to support Black and Brown artists in their business endeavors by creating spaces and platforms for unencumbered artistic exploration, economic development, and community building.
