RP @koreatownlife Really excited to see these images from protests in Seoul! ❤️❤️❤️ Growing up Korean American, I know that Koreans are certainly guilty of following ideals of white supremacy. There’s a wide spectrum of conscious or subconscious racism towards black and brown people in the Korean community. This is mostly due to a lack of knowledge of history, the effects of white supremacist propaganda, and for Korean Americans, an immigrant complex that can be narrowly focused on their own struggles with racism. I hope that images like this can spark curiosity for Koreans asleep on this subject and help Koreans understand that #alllivesmatter cannot exist until #blacklivesmatter I’m working on a shareable post for Koreans and 1st gen Korean Americans with some history on what led to what you see today. Will be posting soon! The color of your skin does not and should not dictate power. Knowledge is power!!
