Boogie-Naz Melancholia Maximalis OUT NOW Melancholia Maximalis in its essence is a re-imagined composition; part conceptual remix, part mash up, part playlist and part insanely hyper edited collage. This is fan art at its core. This is an audio poem. A two-hour experience, an endurance. Weaving pop sap into a tidal epic of cascading motifs. Repetitions in form give the listening experience a never-ending sense of intros and outros. Wavering tempos and melodic information emulate the cyclical nature of these mood spaces. Retaining original source material in their original keys was very important to me along with keeping most songs recognizable. I love creating re-imagined compositions to lean into what my heart craves out of the original pieces. Most of these audio files were acquired without permission and at a pretty low audio quality. The main intention is to share these amazing beings’ art. In fact there are several compositional tweaks throughout the entire album that are intended to be in conversation directly with the artists. There will be no exchange of money currencies to access this album. This entire project was not at all focused on the production value of the “re-works” but of the architectural and emotional foundations of them. Created in two separate formats simultaneously between 2018-2020. The “Endurance Edition” which is the more intended full-length experience of the macro idea and the “Equanimity Edition” which is alternative versions of each segment created to be able to stand on their own as individual songs. Some of which are seemingly identical to the endurance edition and some of which are a bit more treated.
