BEHIND THE SCENES... fear and happiness . 🇬🇧 This very early Sunday morning (22nd of August) is one of my happiest memories this summer. My wonderful friend Livia, picked me up very early at Marbella Club to look for perfectly ripe tomatoes at the @hevillafamily in Coin. It was only 36 hours before my first and very important Tomato Dinner Experience with Marbella Club VIP clients (“mi prueba de fuego” / 2 fotos below ⬇️)... and only 36 hours after a big car accident on Friday night driving back from Ronda after a frustrated Tomato hunt. My car was very damaged but by a small miracle was stopped by the barrier just on the precipice and I was safe with no injuries at all.

Months ahead, I had been selecting the tomato seeds, designing the Marbella Club Tomato Garden, looking after the Tomatoes, and getting all the details prepared... but I was missing enough perfectly ripe tomatoes!!! I spent the entire week looking for them.

As a “back up” to the Marbella Club Tomato Garden and to make sure to be able to provide enough perfectly ripe Tomatoes for all the Experiences, in June I had entrusted Sebastian and Cristobal Hevilla in Coin to look after a selection of my tomato plants among their big and handsome tomato orchard. .
The previous Monday (16th), I went the check on the ripeness of my tomatoes at the Hevilla’s. It was one of the hottest days (47oC) but my tomatoes were still green.

On Sunday, I wanted to go back. As I crashed my car, I asked Livia to drive me and we had the beautiful surprise to discover the tomatoes perfectly ripe. The first Tomato Experience was a success. 🍅🍃✨
