And now for a radical scale change. How often do we arrive in a big room, a big space, a big studio and end up shooting in the corner? Quite often, is the answer. In this case, we started at the edge of the cyc, shooting towards one of the cyc walls but we found the background to be too monochromatic, too uniform and frankly, too boring. So...we dragged our 7’ white Westcott main and our baffled @elinchrom_ltd octobank fill over to one side of the cyc and created a graded background as the light fell off as it traveled down the cyc. And then we rested. And when Melanie Lynskey arrived on set, we took our time. We shot the Hasselblad. We didn’t use the motor drive. We slowed down and only shot 530 files. Old school portrait studies. Loved it. Putting up two lights, moving two lights and then enjoying their salads and having a nice chat were @evanmulling and @avellanophoto.
