Those of you who know me may be aware of how critical I am of my own work and how difficult it is for me to watch it on screen. I always beat myself up over the flaws I see in my application. However, when I watched ANGELYNE, I didn’t see my errors- and it wasn’t because there weren’t any. It was because of Emmy Rossum’s magnificent performance as the mysterious Los Angeles icon. Emmy was so engaging that she even mesmerized ME, transporting me far away from my self-judgemental mind, so much so that I forgot I was watching a TV show. For me to say this speaks to the strength of Emmy’s portrayal of Angelyne. Isn’t this a sign of great story-telling?
