this time a week ago i was eating a pastelillo con camarones, and now i am very much not doing that, but i will post about it! best bites in San Juan roundup lets go: 1. dark chocolate bun at @spiga_vsj (went for guava but the chocolate was the sleeper) 2. an (empty) bowl of little necks with pistou at @elvinocrudo (not pictured: an insaaaaane grilled asparagus dish with nduja romesco and some banging ras el hanout cauliflower) 3. aforementioned pastelillo at @alcapurriaquema 4. guava and almond romero at @caferegina_pr 5. a bafflingly good kale salad smothered in cheese and dressed with some sort of passionfruit vinaigrette? at @caletacafe 6. carne frita, ensalada con pulpo, maduros at @alcapurriaquema 7. the most delicious garbanzos i’ve ever had in my goddamn life at Molini’s, i will think about them until i die 8. MORE carne frita but also mofongo duh (not pictured: a delicious platano soup with bacalaitos to start) at La Casita Blanca 9. carrot cake sundae at @la_santurcina 10. a really wild rabbit and chicken sorta terrine en croute with truffle-y sauce that reminded me how good truffle-y accents can be at @piopio_787 also thank you everyone who sent recs and especially @marianacalo_, who recommended several of em!
