It needs to be respected as such, for the safety of the sex workers engaging in it. It's beyond disgusting that politicians & bankers who actively make decisions every day that endanger & harm poorer & marginalised people (while also using the services of sex workers) are respected & rewarded while sex workers themselves are reviled & considered sub-human, not even worthy of basic rights & protection. I want moral hysteria around sex work to die because it is so fucking boring & hypocritical & dangerous it hurts. I want to see a future where capitalism has been abolished & egomaniacs chasing profit margins do not run the world. In the meantime I want people to feel secure and safe in whatever work they have chosen to do or not do in order to survive a system they didn't create.
