4 Lakes you should visit in BC:
⚠️ Keep our parks and environment clean by leaving no trace, and pick up any trash or garbage you come across in trails, beaches, and provincial parks.
1. Joffre Lakes Provincial Park: Located about 4 hours away from Vancouver, guests can visit 3 lakes at this Provincial Park, and it would take about 3 hours of hiking to get to the upper lake. Parking available at the trailhead and day passes are required to visit.
2. Kentucky-Alleyne Provincial Park: Location is located about 3.5 hours away from Vancouver. This Provincial Park offers 2 main lakes, Kentucky Lake and Alleyne Lake, which guests can visit and is an ideal place to visit during spring and summer. Parking is available at the park. However it gets very busy on the weekends in summer. Plan accordingly.
3. Emerald Lake: Located near Banff Provincial Park, this lake is featuring scenic mountains and a lodge nearby. Parking is available for this lake.
4. Johnson Lake: ⚠️Getting to this lake requires 4x4 vehicles with high clearance, and many times, visitors have reported the road has been washed out or been closed due to landslide. Located 1400 meters above sea level near Kamloops, this lake offers crystal-clear water with white beaches and is great for camping and day visits. Please check the road conditions before you travel.
