Last night’s 3 hour, 12 course dinner at Michelin-starred @katorestaurant celebrated chef @jonyao Taiwanese heritage. Many of these dishes had familiar flavors from my childhood and I found this nostalgia comforting. For example, I was reminded of ginger scallion sauce on lobster. Beef noodle soup. Spicy mala peppercorns. Seeing a packed house enjoying elevated Taiwanese cuisine made me smile with pride.
