August is the start of National Black Business Month! Here at McBride Sisters, we think it is important to not only highlight the statistics of Black Business Owners but to also shed light on how we use our voice and resources to help the community reach their career goals. With 35% of Black Business Owners being women, 61% of these Black women entrepreneurs self-fund their businesses instead of securing a loan from a financial institution. This is is why we created the McBride Sisters SHE CAN Fund as an effort to close the gender and race gap in leadership positions by providing scholarships and grants to emerging women leaders.
