All my life I have been looking for my soulmate. I realized that my soulmate isn’t a person, it’s a dog. Honey, I never thought in a million years that I would be writing this, but here we go. When I was in second grade, I was about to get in the car to come home after school. Before I got in the car, my mom told me there was an extra 4-legged animal in the car. I kept guessing, but I never got it. My mom opened the door, and the most beautiful, golden dog came and gave me endless kisses. Earlier that day, my athletic trainer, Kevin, saw and saved her off the road. Since my dad wasn’t in town, Kevin offered her to my mom, and of course, she said yes. On the way to my house, I was trying to decide what to name her, and we ended up naming her Honey. We thought Honey was suitable because she is the sweetest dog I’ve ever met to this day, and she’s a golden yellow color. So ever since that day, Honey has been my best friend. So, I just would like to take a moment to thank Honey. Honey, Thank you. Thank you for being my one true source of happiness. Thank you for showing me what true love is. Thank you for being there for me no matter what. Thank you for listening to me whenever I spoke. Thank you for always showing me kindness and happiness. Thank you for never failing to put a smile on my face. Thank you for the endless kisses. Thank you for all the memories. Thank you for spending your life with me. Thank you for being my best friend. I miss you more than anything in this world, and I would do anything to be with you right now. I miss carrying you around like a little puppy, coming home to see you after school, seeing you smile, giving you kisses, pulling your tufts, and so much more. I miss you more than words can express. I thought that we were going to grow old together, but today, I realized that I had to let go of you. You have made me so happy, and I wish I could’ve gotten more time with you. I know that you’re in a better place, and I am so glad you’re out of pain. I know that you’ll be watching over me from puppy heaven. This isn’t a goodbye, just a see you later.
