when you step through the wrought iron gate at #casacody (by the @casetta_group!) you’re transported to a magical world wrapped in bougainvillea, nestled in the golden san Jacinto mountains under the wide open desert sky that feels timeless, and somehow, slower. I loved wandering the property, I loved being amongst the fruit trees, listening to the birds, the cicadas (and even saw some bats and had a run in with a cute little skunk—I’ll spare you the details but I personally love nature!) The usually short weekend felt restorative in ways I can’t explain and I answered the call to slow down, walk barefoot, swim, read, write and laugh. They encourage fruit-picking on the property,. There are 2 pools and a hot tub, a little garden you can pick from (you can get cocktails, mixers and a juicing kit from the front desk, too!) and the rooms feel so homey and cozy, complete with lovely art work, beautiful tile, awesome books on food, art & culture, charming back patios, @parachute bedding and towels, lush toiletries & beautiful robes. There are bikes you can borrow to cruise to nearby downtown Palm Springs. If you’re looking for a unique experience near LA, rich with history (it was established beginning in 1900 and used to host guests like Charlie Chaplin!) walking distance to amazing bars & restaurants, museums, the aerial tramway (plus dole whip & vintage shopping!) I highly recommend the sweet Casa Cody. I want to visit the @casetta_group’s other properties now!
