There is a recommended processing time for a reason and it is completely normal for toners to appear purple, blue or even silver when processing. For example in this video the toner I used looked dark purple at the bowl but the end result is a bright Ash blonde. If you rinse the toner too soon you run the risk of uneven toning results or it may not last as long as it should. Please keep in mind that there is such thing as over-toning! This can happen if you’re not formulating correctly. I use the Redken Shades EQ swatch book whenever I need help formulating. Pro tip 🌟 If you ever get nervous about toning and want to soften the tone you can always add clear to the toning formula. This is like an insurance policy that lets you leave it on for the full processing time. I usually use Clear or Gold if my client has fine, porous or over processed hair.” #HairLovesShadesEQ
