7 years ago, I stepped onto Nicaraguan soil as a senior in high school — clueless of the work that God was getting ready to do, and the seeds He was getting ready to plant. 🌱 This past week, I had the honor and privilege to go back to Nicaragua with 67 students and leader from @westridgechurch + @wrcstudents to partner with @chosenchildrenministries, to witness & capture those seeds in fruition. We closed our chapter in our previous village, The Flags, and watched how God began a new work in La Paz. The people there are some of the poorest in the entire country. There are about 500 families, and 1 water source that is located at the church that serves around 80 of those families. Over the course of the week, our team members got to serve people in the village through ⤵️: • Door-to-door evangelism • Construction projects (2 houses and a latrine) • Bible stories and crafts with the kids • Women’s Ministry and Sports Ministry • Prayer Walking Through our students’ generosity, their “bless money” was used in these ways ⤵️: • $2,008 was the total amount given through our offering this year. • $800 additional was given. • 100 food bags, 1 for each family that we visited door-to-door. • Mattresses, bed frames, and cribs for several families • Sheet metal to repair roofing leaks and provide protection from wind and dirt • Diapers, baby formula, baby clothes, etc. • Shoes and clothes • Propane tanks • All the ice cream from 3 ice cream vendors ($60-100 to each) I am are so proud of all of our students and leaders for putting Jesus on display this past week!
