Today, Gord Downie and Bob Rock release 'The Raven And The Red-Tailed Hawk' – a three song collection that gives a sneak peek at the iconic duo's long mythologized collaborative album. Steeped in Downie lore – images of the raven "round the housefire's afterglow" and parking lot skipping stones – "The Raven And The Red-Tailed Hawk" brims with chiming guitars and galloping drums, underlining Gord and Bob's affinity for pop-punk abandon. With a chorus of resilience, Downie instills hope, delivered in his unparalleled expressiveness when needed most: "Some days, I can’t do it/ Sometimes I just can't do it/ The only way around is through it." "'The Raven And The Red-Tailed Hawk' was the first song that Gord and I completed," says Rock, of the recording sessions that began in 2009. "It was a special moment for both of us, as at that point... we saw the future!" More than a decade in the making, the fourteen song album 'Lustre Parfait' will finally be released on May 5, 2023.
