In these times when anti-trans rhetoric, legislation, ostracism, misinformation and violence is either being ignored, normalised or encouraged by those at the highest levels of government - it is so important that we celebrate the wins. Scotland has just voted to pass a landmark bill removing barriers for trans people to be legally recognised without medical diagnosis, which is a HUGE win for gender equality. It’s so encouraging to see @nicolasturgeon’s example of inclusive leadership. Especially when UK Prime Minister @rishisunakmp has recently said that he plans on removing trans rights from the Equality Act. When a politician speaks about equality, it should mean equality for ALL. Not just for the people who vote for them. The sooner we have a cabinet in power that reflects the people they serve, the sooner we may start to see real social progress that benefits those most at risk.
