The SOLEUS is an important muscle that lies behind the gastrocnemius muscle in the calf 🦵 The soleus can be a problem area in many conditions that cause lower leg pain, especially regarding the Achilles tendon due to its direct attachment to the muscle. ✅One of the best exercises to strengthen the soleus muscle is the soleus raise, where you perform a calf raise with the knee bent. ⚠️ Although this is a well known exercise, many people may be performing it incorrectly ⚠️ As described in the video, the improper performance of the soleus raise is seen when you have horizontal displacement of your body. ⚠️If you feel your body moving forward, you are doing this exercise wrong ❌ and not getting optimal results. When done correctly, there will be vertical displacement of the body. If you feel you body moving upwards, you are doing the exercise properly and will get the most optimal results. !!️ DISCLAIMER: If you are dealing with any lower leg or ankle pain, you may not be ready for this particular exercise as it places more stress on the muscles, ligaments and bones of the lower leg due to the weight bearing position. Start in a seated position before progressing to standing. In addition, start with the double leg calf raise, then progress to the single leg calf raise. #getbackinthegame #trainwhattranslates
