Stage 5: a good reminder that just getting to the finish line every day is worth celebrating. We were so sad to learn that the Salomon/Skinfit German team (in third place for women through stage 4) had to pull out of the race yesterday after one of the athletes found themselves in trouble physically at yesterday’s high point and had to be evacuated by helicopter (photo 2 - she is doing okay and recovering in the hospital thanks to the incredible work of the @transalpine_run organization team). My body is definitely tired but I feel grateful each day it gets me to both the start line and finish line. Some days it feels amazing and some days it’s one foot in front of the other but every day is such a gift to be out here regardless of where we finish the race! 3 stages left... #transalpinerun2022 #keepmoving #neverstopexploring #ultrarunning #austrianalps #trailrunning #trailracing
