this year my birthday falls on lunar new year so i wore red and visited a redwood grove for the 복🧧 but since red also conveniently symbolizes rage 🥰… remember that niceties are ineffective when it’s at the expense of oppression. staying educated is a moral obligation and willful ignorance ain’t cute. if you think being “woke” is an insult, I’m sorry that you still take pride in being asleep🫰🏼 I acknowledge that anger and gratitude can coexist. I’m thankful that I can run my miles and read my banned books and comfortably express my identity. it’s a pity that these now seem to be privileges and not basic human rights.
