Talking about ‘It’s Not Just You’ at @overheated. I spoke about eco-anxiety, mental health, capitalism and thus how it cannot be pried apart from oppressive systems. The premise of ‘It’s Not Just You’ has four pillars: you’re not alone, employ intersectionality, understand the impact of systems on mental health and dismantle individualism in favour of collective care. Eco-anxiety is far too often siloed and applied as an all-encompassing experience for people. But it’s not that simple. And to believe so would be a huge disservice to marginalised communities where the climate crisis is not the sole or first existential threat.
