After 3 weeks of travelling, my skin needed some attention so when I was offered a chance to experience Cosmetic Acupuncture with Athena Giralea @cosmetic_acupuncture_wisdom @harveynichols I jumped at the chance! I have had acupuncture before for various things so I was keen on trying it for cosmetic reasons. The treatment was calm and relaxing, Athena had the loveliest nature and explained to a geek like me, all the ins and outs of her treatment. When I mentioned a certain needle point was aching a little more than the others she quickly asked if I had an issue in a specific body part. I had a little ache from training the day before in my lower back! She also mentioned I had some tension in my jawline and when I told her I do tend to grind my teeth at night and also tense a lot due to working out, she quickly addressed it. What was fascinating was when there was an issue, the feeling of the needle aches a little more, otherwise I barely felt any of them. I loved how Athena would customise and address issues I had by customising my treatment and where she would place the needles. This meant that my facial was really meant for me and me only. When I left, I felt rested, calm and happy. When I looked at my skin, it felt smooth, glowing, firm and rested. The contours of my face like cheekbones and jawline felt that little tighter than before. As with treatments, it’s accumulative so the more often I maintain this, the more prolonged the effect.
