FURNITURE IN CHROME AND VELVET BY MARK GRATTAN FOR TRUSSARDI CASA. @markgrattan @trussardi Furniture designer Mark Grattan works between New York City and Mexico City, creating sculptural pieces under his eponymously named design studio. Mark has designed four pieces for Trussardi Casa’s Exhibition and Special Capsule: an armchair, a side table, a pouf bench and a floor mirror using materials velvet and chrome. “Designing these commercial pieces, I was driven by Benjamin and Serhat’s idea of juxtaposition. I utilized contrasting materials to give the furniture different perspectives: soft and hard, cold and warm. The mirror is the showpiece, I love reflective materials that exude mystery and sensuality. The velvet I’ve used is a muted green but with different light its hue changes to grey,” Mark Grattan.
