since i post about orange flowers all the time, i figured i should share the story. my mom always told me to pray such specific things they feel almost impossible so i always prayed, “when a boy asks me to go to church without me saying anything, i’ll know he’s from you.” well then carter and i started dating and all i could think about was how many times i had gone to church in a group or with guy friends that i hadn’t necessarily arranged. so i told my mom and she said not specific enough. try again. so i tried again and this time i prayed “if he hand delivers me orange flowers, i’ll know this is your plan.” hand delivered because we were long distance and he had never shown up with flowers before, only ever sent them to me. orange because i HATE orange and he knows it, so if he bought orange it wouldn’t be a coincidence. the next time i saw carter, he got a flat tire the night he was supposed to be leaving oxford and couldn’t go back to saint louis. we happened to have a date party that night so while i started getting ready he snuck out to grab a bouquet and a family size bag of doritos (he obviously loves me very well). i didn’t think anything of it other than how sweet it was, until we got to the date party. “WHAT COLOR WERE THOSE FLOWERS” “uhhh i don’t know red maybe why” we zoom in on the pics but can’t tell for sure so after a few minutes of me absolutely freaking out (last pic is a live action shot of this that @belllonggg secretly snapped), we sprint home in the pouring rain and sure enough they were orange. i asked him why he picked that bouquet before i told him what was really going on and he said “they were the only ones that weren’t dead” 😭😭 so on a night he wasn’t supposed to be there and with allegedly the only alive bouquet in kroger, God waved his hands in my face and said “he is from me.” i would’ve known that without a doubt just in the way that carter loves me so much like Jesus, but he spelled it out for me just so i could NEVER question it. 🥺🥺 now this is not to say be Gideon and test the Lord, but He lovessssss answering prayers. don’t be scared to ask Him to remind you of his presence, because he also loves showing up.
