This, spotted on Twitter yesterday. This may be hard to understand, but this made me more thrilled than any cover of a magazine (except for the first one) I’ve ever gotten. The cover of a magazine was at first super exciting and sort of affirming in that “yes-other-people-think-I’m-beautiful” way. Ego boosting for sure! But at the same time, it kept confirming to me that the only valuable part of me was the outside. I was a young woman of high ego and very low self esteem. Now I know self esteem comes from the inside.
