During Phase 1 of its emergency flood response, Footsteps Bangladesh distributed 340 dry food packages, 810 grocery packages, 2700 cooked meals and 9 Dreamwater Portable Filters under the Disaster Resilience Programme (DRP), which impacted 7,555 lives in Sunamganj and Kurigram Districts. Now, as part of Phase 2 of our operations in Sunamganj and Kurigram, we are focusing on building fishing boats, reconstructing homes, and deploying our Dreamwater Portable Filters which can convert flood water into drinking water and carry out medical programs in flood-affected areas throughout Sunamganj, Sylhet, and Kurigram. Although we have already distributed 10 boats to the people who have lost their source of income and house reconstruction materials to 5 people who had their houses damaged by the recent flood, more support is needed to improve the living situation and restore the livelihoods of communities across the haor areas in Sunamganj and remote char areas in Kurigram. Therefore, to help as many families as possible recover from the devastating effects of the flood, Footsteps once again asks for your generous support.
