I love this mug but it turns out handles exist for a reason 〰️ crocheted a lil checkered cozy so I can hold hot drinks in it again ⭐️ How to make your own: - Chain enough to fit around your mug when stretched - you want it to be snug. I did 30 chains for this one, but make sure you chain the correct amount for your mug size and checker pattern - 30 stitches worked for 10 checkers of 3 stitches each; 24 would work for 8 checkers of 3 stitches each. Can do bigger or smaller checkers to fit the size mug you have. - Join the chain into a circle with a slip stitch (run your fingers down the chain before joining to ensure it is not twisted). - Chain 2, then half double crochet 3 stitches, then pull in second color and hdc 3 more. Run yarn you are not using through the middle of the stitch. Repeat until you finish the first round. Join to close round with a slip stitch. - Chain 2, then repeat the same color order for the second row. You should have a square per color now. - For rows 3-4, switch color order so that you create the checker pattern. For rows 5-6, switch back to original color order. Always chain 2 before starting each new row. - Weave in ends. • • • • • #diy #diyhomedecor #diyhomeprojects #diyprojects #diyproject #diyideas #diyhome #crochet #crocheting #crochetinspiration #crocheted #crochetpattern #crochetideas #crochetproject #checkerboard #checkered
