At the Chocolate Bar in Abidjan🍫, I went out wanting to wear a cute outfit not thinking about what other people might think of my body hair. My hairiness is part of me, it isn't something I hide anymore! Which means I get to wear whatever I want without the shame I felt towards myself and simply seeing the beauty I was blinded from seeing. I felt nervous thinking of travelling to a hot country, especially going outside of Canada. I purposely didn't bring many pants, mostly shorts, skirts, dresses and shirts that showed my chest hair to continuously challenge myself and overcome any fear of judgment that I may still have. Where ever I go, people look at me mostly with curious eyes especially because they know I am not from here, some people look at my body hair and go back to minding their business. Something that I felt was slightly different was that no one looked at me with judgment I mean some did look shocked but many looked and that was it, no staring with disgust and no one awkwardly stopped talking when I walked past them like in Canada.
