No better way to start a Monday than with clothes that fit your body 🤍
I have been apprehensive about sharing my gifting experiences with brands because so many times the process feels like it’s shrouded in unspoken rules and expectations around disclosure. However, this year I started asking brands that have reached out to consider the cost of someone like me wearing their clothes. As a forequarter amputee I can’t wear most things as is and usually I spend anywhere from $40-$120 to get a single piece tailored to fit me. When James Street Co reached out they didn’t hesitate in making this consideration and covered the cost to get this beautiful pull over altered.
This example that left me feeling seen, is unfortunately the exception and not the rule—and I think it should be the rule.
Influencer marketing has irrevocably tied itself to social media and it isn’t going anywhere which means the language and processes around gifting and partnerships have to be more inclusive. I.e. Requesting shoot locations that are accessible and being mindful that cost and timelines for deliverables might be different for disabled creators.
Thank you @jamesstreetco for this very thoughtful and inclusive gift 🤍
