Proverbs 23 the last 3-4 days has popped up in some form multiple times so took that as a sign to do some studying and figured I’d share some... V4-5- “Do not wear yourself out to get rich; have the wisdom to show restraint. Cast but a glance at riches and they are gone“ •chasing things of this world will leave you wanting more and empty. Jesus is enough Definitely not saying success is bad but chasing money solely can be, focus on truly the things that matter, people/family and our walk with God. V15-16 “My son, if your heart is wise, then my heart will be glad, indeed. My inmost being will rejoice when your lips speak what is right.” •The Lord rejoices when your heart is wise and when you speak what is right. V17 “Do not let your heart envy sinners, instead, always fear the Lord” •At times, sin can seem attractive and we’re tempted by a fear of “missing out”. But our fear of the Lord should be much more. Fear of the Lord as in a deep reverence, respect, and awe for God’s power and authority V18- “there is surely a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off” •Trust Gods word and know that there’s a hope for your future. Even in difficult times, you should maintain that hope. Those who seek and follow God have enduring hope V23- “Buy the truth and do not sell it- wisdom, instruction and insight as well” •Actively seek and acquire knowledge and understanding of the truth, and once you have it, never abandon or compromise it for anything else
