Stage 7: the adventure stage! The race started at 6:30am to try and beat the forecasted rain and snow but turned out after 2.5 hours of running, the rain and snow beat us. We made it to the high point after a technical climb just as the race director made the decision to stop the stage at the next feed station, a short but steep 15 minute downhill away. The decision was made for the safety of all racers. It was the right choice but dang if we weren’t left feeling a little hungry to finish the course. The incredible organization moved the entire finish area in time for the racers to complete the shortened stage and make our way carefully off the mountain (a ~4 mile descent). One more chance tomorrow to send it and finish off this grand adventure!
