One long dinner table with all your people, and a meal served family style — this is intimacy. It’s not about a number of guests, but about a feeling you embody with your day. Kayla + Elaine’s day felt so close and so warm, so thoughtfully planned out and expertly executed (big thanks to @sophiehertz ). Despite the fact that many of their guests had never met, and many of the ones who had weren’t able to see each other for over two years due to Covid, and the fact that people came from halfway around the world to be there, their day felt like a family reunion. It was beautiful (in every sense of that word). And it felt like a real privilege to be included. sounds a bit woo-woo but I truly think the universe was watching out for them with a rainbow over their ceremony, and a starry night once the sun went down. Weddings like this one make me believe in soulmates.
