A visit to Casa Estudio Luis Barragán in Mexico City. Barragán's architectural style was something he called "architectural striptease". There's a curious flow when you walk through this house. You start in dark corridors with low ceilings and are suddenly lead into spacious, light filled rooms with tall, tall ceilings. There's always a sense of the outside being in and the inside being out ... the sense that he perfected turning "houses into gardens, and gardens into houses." The strong sense of brown wood and natural elements throughout made me think of the earth. There's an elegantly minimalistic focus to this house that feels sturdy and also fluid. I left feeling super inspired, definitely with mental notes I'd love to incorporate into my home one day. #decor #architecture #mexicocity #cdmx
