When you are invited to watch history being made, you show up. CONGRATULATIONS to Black Women On Boards, my dearest friend (my best European travel guide, first entertainment lawyer and soror) @shannonnash1 and the undeniable #BWOB Co-Founder and Corporate Board Member who has taken several companies public (yes, several) #MerlineSaintil and the entire glass ceiling-shattering cohort for their historic turn at Nasdaq on Feb. 8, 2022 as they rang the opening bell in honor of Patricia Roberts Harris, the first Black woman to serve on a Board of Directors at a Fortune 500 company in 1971. These amazing leaders are creating Black History as we celebrate #BlackHistoryMonth! I am grateful to stand and witness this incredible moment and remember the road paved by the courageous Black women who fought to be visible and impactful in corporate America long before I even knew what Madison Avenue was or stepped foot into my first corporate job as a marketing assistant.
