A puzzle of lava, slowly pieced together by the flow of the molten Earth. I’ve had loads of requests for a moving version of this image, I know you keep seeing it but it’s just such a beautiful scene that I’m happy to keep the flow rolling for this first little video sequence. I have been at the Meradalir eruption site every day since it started, coming home to charge and take a nap while importing, then heading out again to keep filming. Definitely some of the best days I’ve lived. I’ve switched between my Mavic 3 Cine and Inspire X7 setup a lot on this shoot, you can see some closer 50mm details from the Inspire in the later clips. For such an old drone, I still think it’s a remarkable tool and my favourite to use when I can get it to the location.
