🌟 Hyperpigmentation on the face can take many forms. These are two of the most common scenarios we see everyday in our office. 1️⃣ "Sunspots, Age Spots, Liver Spots" are all common terms for solar lentigenes and macular seborrheic keratosis. This sun and age-induced pigmentation can be very noticeable and disconcerting to patients. We can make quick work of these using a variety of q-switched or picosecond lasers, restoring normal skin coloration and texture. Chemical peels (full face or spot peeling) can also be very effective. 2️⃣ Melasma is patchy hyperpigmentation that can be idiopathic, pregancy ,or hormonal, or medication-induced (principally from birth control pills and IUDs. This pigmentation is UV exacerbated typically worsens with the intense sunshine in the summer months and wains in the wintertime. It can be very difficult to treat and sometimes to diagnosis. We try out best to control the unwanted pigmentation through a variety of medical and laser-based methods. 👉Come see the board-certified Dermatologists @dlvsc for the treatment options.
