It has been three years since I have seen this magnificent woman, who has managed the Bar du Soleil in Jouques for at least 15 years. Since I saw her last, both of our fathers have suffered strokes. Our children have grown (she commented on my missing stroller, and shared that her son now works at the boucherie up the road). At 10 am, in her three inch heels (always), Marielle is a vision of strength. And doesn’t look a day older. These encounters after these long years wake up deep-feeling sleeping cells.
