You can’t beat someone who never quits....
1 week post Dengue Fever and I’m not going anywhere. 👀
.
They secret to building a better back is to work hard in your off-season, lift heavy things and eat your food.
Seriously though, it has taken me well over a decade of dedicated learning and growing to get where I am today. When I started off on this journey I was undersized and under muscled at 5’2”, 106 lbs. I did way too much yoga, I didn’t eat enough, and I was weak. But I loved learning about nutrition and the importance of strength training to build muscle, and I just started applying myself in the right direction, trusting the process and putting in the time. Rebuilding your body is a delicious endeavor. There are no shortcuts that have lasting health benefits. If you want to age well you’ve got to stick with the basics: nutrition, recovery, and progressive overload.
I’m now 118 lbs and almost 52. Who says we can’t get better as we age? Screw ‘em.
You don’t take time off from the doing the things you love. I personally love making improvements. If I don’t feel that I’ve improved myself in some way year to year, then i would feel I’ve failed myself. I never want to be someone who rests on their laurels. There is always a way to get better. When you carry that seed within you, life will always improve for you. This by no means prevents me from enjoying what I have. It just means I never put a ceiling on my success. Every new height I reach affords a better view of what’s out there. It’s a great big world of possibilities and opportunities.
