Had the honor to work with @jellabiya @kategaye to design and create my graduation looks. It only felt right to reach out to one of my favorite designers and dearest friend to capture what this chapter meant to me. My looks reflect who I was and who I’m becoming. 4 years ago, I came in as a 17-year old girl with overflowing ambition and dreams. And today, I’m leaving as the woman I dreamt of becoming. The suit represents my time in the engineering school, where I felt out of place and overly feminine in a space that didn’t always make room for softness. Yet, I made space for myself. My commencement dress resembles a wedding gown. While I’ve never romanticized marriage, I cherish the idea of marrying myself, staying rooted, and honoring where I come from. In moments of achievement, it’s often easy to forget where you come from. These four years were transformative, and this is only the beginning of my journey... Thank you Khadijah for helping me celebrate this milestone in a way I’ll never forget 🩵
