I’m a day late posting this because I spend all day Tuesdays and Thursdays solo with my daughter. That’s a different kind of work, but it’s something designers should be able to do even if there isn’t a pandemic. I feel blessed with this time with her and so angry for the theatre parents who came before me and worked the 16 hour days and 7 day weeks that actor 10/12s translate to for designers and assistants. And angry for the theatre workers who wanted to start families but couldn’t because the schedule doesn’t make room for it practically or mentally.
