Small lip gang, where you at? 👄Just a little story for @popsugaruk to remind you that you’re just as gorg as the full lipped queens ❤️ Lip size is, unfortunately, just another way the body and facial features go in and out of fashion. We saw black women and other women colour be bullied for having fuller lips for a very long time and then in about 2015 big lips were the ‘in thing’ (feels icky even saying that about a body part). Since then, it has been almost unacceptable to NOT have big lips (whether they’re filled or natural). But the tide is turning AGAIN as Molly-Mae and others dissolve their fillers. There is NO WAY to keep up with the beauty standard, so the only real option is to learn to be ok with what you’ve got (and that includes getting fillers or overlining, if you want). I feel okay about my small lips and I actually really love my cupid’s bow now. There is so much more to lips and smiles than their thickness. Big lips are gorgeous but so are small ones. I think learning how to properly apply lip liner was a huge part of learning to love my lips as they are. And trust me, I’ve been tempted to get filler for years. I know how hard it is to get your lip makeup right when you have a little mouth. Liner slips and slides and fades within an hour or it just looks really clown-like.
